Geneva to create a movement with the
Geneva Seal which is this beautiful flying
Tourbillon that is in Ballon Bleu, the
Tank Américaine and Santos 100, but at
the same time we have been true to our
values too. We have been very creative.
You have seen the Santos 100 with this
beautiful movement. It is so pure, so
simple, but still so full of personality.
I
think we are just aligning our values in
the different creative fields where we
are represented.
If you compare the buyer of a Cartier
Tourbillon with that of a Parmigiani
Tourbillon or IWC Tourbillon, is there
a difference in their personality?
For many years, a lot of disappointed
men customers have come to us asking
what we have to offer them since we
have been creating a lot of beautiful
jewellery watches for their wives. I think
a typical Cartier customer was not taken
care of by us back then. I do not know
whether that customer would have gone |
and bought something from another
luxury watch house. But today the whole
retail industry is telling us how we are
really significant and a part of the high
watchmaking trend.
What have been the highlights of
the year?
Apart from the Flying Tourbillon
Ballon Bleu, if you look at the Haute
Horlogerie in the Américaine Tank and
Santos 100, you will realise that we have
created a beautiful skeleton movement
in the Santos 100, which is something
extremely iconic. We have been a bit
creative as well because we created it
on the palladium case, which is quite
unusual.
You used Palladium for Pasha as
well?
That is right. We got a lot of positive
comments on Pasha Palladium because
it was so unusual. So you see creativity
in the movements, the aesthetic, as well
as in the material that we have selected. |
In addition, we have these two Rotonde
watches: pink gold and white gold with
this Chrono central movement, which
are outstanding pieces. If you come to
Cartier this year, you will see a profusion
of creative spirit for our lady customers
too. The animal circus travelled to Asia
last year and this year is stopping in
America, with models that are absolutely
outstanding: the crocodile, the very
cute raccoon, as well as the beautiful
American eagle, very much in the
American Spirit. You can see the
creativity in the Cartier Libre too,
where we have been inspired by the
Baignoire in our Baignoire collection.
And we have the beautiful Hypnose
collection, linked to one of our creative
lines in jewellery.
So, when you see these, you see the
creative spirit of Cartier. And we have
come up with Ballon Bleu chronograph
this time with beautiful manufacture
movement and a see-through back |
