What motivated you into organising
the Mini Basel?
Mini Basel is a very important
event for Breguet and the
Swatch Group. First of all, it
makes a strong statement to the
trade and to the public on how
important and how large the
Swatch Group is as a player. And
it is also an occasion after the
Basel show, in the second part
of the year, to sit down with our
retailers from the area and to review
the business, the orders, the
activities, the promotions etc.
Is it true that at the Basel
show many of the watches
were prototypes and probably
this time around they are real
products?
For Breguet, I would say the
prototype we show in the Basel
usually comes during the Mini
Basel in Dubai. But very often
we don’t receive the first pieces
out of production in time. During
the Basel fair we do not have
a lot of time to spend with our
customers. Therefore, when we
are here in the fall of the year,
we have more time to spend
with the press and the people
and go into details.
How important is this region for Breguet?
In the Middle East, Breguet has had a presence
since 1987.
