Montblanc
Grand Chronographe Régulateur |
The most conspicuous features on the new chronograph are
its regulator dial with a small hour circle at 12 o‘clock and a
large centre minute hand. These are complemented by a
second time zone display, a day/night indicator, a combined
power reserve / winding display, the continuously running
second hand and the chronograph function with monopusher
operation, a large centre chronograph hand and all the other design features typically associated with the Institut Minerva de Recherche en Haute Horlogerie.
The white and rose gold watches feature hand-guilloched
gold dials with grooved patterning that creates a fascinating
play of light. The cases are polished on all sides and have a
convex bezel holding a high-domed sapphire glass with
vertical sides falling away sharply. Closing firmly over the
screw-in sapphire glass back cover is a hinged cover. |

Parmigiani
Arlequin Tourbillon |
Fully set with baguette cut trapezoid
diamonds and sapphires, the dial’s
invisible setting comprises concentric
arcs. After being cut to size and then
honed by the craftsman to one hundredth
of a millimetre on a ‘female’
mould of the dial, the precious stones
are mounted in their final position on
the watch dial, which will be barely more
than 2 mm thick. The finished whole,
fixed in the metal, will enable the light to
slide perfectly over the precious dial,
with no roughness or unevenness blemishing
its shine. Created exclusively for
the Parmigiani Atelier Collection, the
Arlequin Tourbillon model has the
advantage of the Parmigiani Fleurier inhouse
Calibre 500 movement, the assets
of which are a Tourbillon cage completing
a revolution every 30 seconds, and a
7-day power reserve. It is clad in a solid
950 platinum case. |
