Weems Second-Setting Watch |
Longines is paying tribute to the creator of the
legendary Weems navigation system by launching
an 18-carat rose gold version of the
Longines Weems Second-Setting Watch, which
pays homage to the man and his watch with its
masculine characteristics. Framed by its 18-
carat rose gold case of 47.50 mm of diameter,
the watch shows the hours and minutes with a
pair of blued steel ‘Breguet’ style hands, plus
the seconds on a white lacquer dial, protected
by a sapphire crystal. The seconds hand is
synchronised to a radio time signal via the
opaline silvered rotating centre dial featuring a
black painted double minute track. This model
is equipped wit h an L699 self-winding mechanical
movement, beating at 28,800 vibrations per
hour and providing 46 hours of power reserve.
A hinged and engraved back cover can be lifted
to reveal a transparent sapphire plate, through
which the movement’s sparkling dance can be
observed. The watch features a brown alligator
strap and is water-resistant to 30 meters. |
