BREITLING FOR BENTLEY FLYING B
 |
The Flying B emblem they share lends its name to their first rectangular wristwatch, incorporating a unique movement and look. The hours are displayed in a large numerical window (like a jumbo date indicator), the minutes on the main dial and the seconds on a smaller dial at the bottom. The knurled metal finish that frames the face mimics the dashboards on some of Bentley's most sought-after exclusive models. A Bentley is far more than a car, it is a work of art crafted with infinite concern for detail. Dedicated to the most prestigious of automobile marques, the latest newcomer to the Breitling for Bentley collection likewise asserts itself as a luxurious and sophisticated creation. Also, through its generous, yet elegant dimensions, establishing a powerful presence on the wrist, as well as its play on angles and curves. The surprising nature of the Flying B stems not just from this rectangular design, the first ‘shaped’ case in the Breitling for Bentley collection. It is also distinguished by its original display model featuring a jumping hour mechanism in which the hour hand is replaced by a disc at 12 o’clock. Minutes are read off in a more conventional way by means of a single hand placed at the dial
centre. Meanwhile, the seconds are shown on an off-centred sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Like all models in the Breitling for Bentley collection, the new Flying B takes to the road with an exceptional motorisation: self-winding Breitling Calibre 28B, officially chronometer-certified by the COSC. |
