CHOPARD MILLE MIGLIA
Snaking through a thousand miles of Italian countryside, the Mille Miglia is one of the most famous classic races in the world, and Chopard has been sponsoring the event for over two decades now. To commemorate the partnership, the renowned Swiss watchmaker has a complete line of sports watches. In 1988, Chopard supported the famous Mille Miglia race for the first time, and presented in the same year the first Chopard 1000 Miglia Chronograph. It was Karl- Friedrich Scheufele, a fan of classic race cars, who came up with the idea of developing a Mille Miglia chronograph. Now, every year, scores of enthusiasts and collectors wait with bated breath for the presentation of the ‘new’ Mille Miglia chronograph. Again and again, the new models delight and surprise with their innovative design, new materials and additional technical functions. Just like every year, Chopard presented this year the new 1000 Miglia Chronograph. The 1000 Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 represents a return to historical roots. Inspired by an iconic model within the collection, the first ever featuring the famous rubber strap designed after the Dunlop Racing tire from the 60s, the 2009 edition plays on classic shapes, optimal readability and understated elegance. The latest 1000 Miglia chronograph features a 42 mm-diameter case on the famous natural rubber Dunlop Racing strap. Equipped with a dial in ruthenium colour, this sporty model is driven by a mechanical chronograph movement, chronometer-certified by the COSC.
